City pulse news
Farotimi has declared that detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu was entirely accurate in everything he said about the Nigerian state. In a video shared on his social media platform on Wednesday,
stated that recent developments in the country have repeatedly confirmed the criticisms Kanu raised over the years.
He said he could find no basis to dispute any of the points Kanu made in his agitation against the Nigerian system.Farotimi went further, saying he is now fully convinced that Kanu was “110 percent correct” in his evaluation of the problems facing Nigeria.
He pointed out the contrast between Kanu remaining in detention while many people accused of serious crimes continue to move freely.
In his view, this situation itself serves as proof that Kanu’s observations were accurate. The lawyer argued that Nigeria’s failure to listen to rational and critical voices has created space for more extreme expressions of discontent.
He warned that when legitimate concerns are ignored, stronger and more radical voices tend to emerge in response.Farotimi’s comments form part of his broader critique of systemic issues in the country, including what he describes as selective justice and the marginalisation of certain groups.
He has previously spoken about the need to address underlying grievances rather than simply suppress those who express them.
Nnamdi Kanu has been in detention for several years in connection with charges related to his leadership of IPOB and related activities. His case continues to generate strong public debate across Nigeria.
Farotimi’s latest remarks have drawn significant attention, with many interpreting them as a strong endorsement of the substance of Kanu’s long-standing criticisms of governance, justice, and national cohesion in Nigeria.
